Post Scam?

Hi. i ordered two days ago some items from a new seller on Aliexpress.
His prices were about 50% those of the competitors
Yesterday he shipped the goods giving me the tracking number RI654015185CN which shows my destination country correctly.
I am suspicious because the prices were very low and he shipped four items very fast when usually sellers take longer.
Is it possible to check the weight of the package or how much he paid to send it? If we know how much he paid we can understand if the packet is empty
Thank you

I doubt very much that China Post keeps these particulars on file, especially for this class of package (Registered Mail). That said, even if they did have the information and were willing to give it out, probably the only way to get it would be to call them by phone. The number is +86 10 11185; service in Mandarin Chinese only.

It's possible it's a scam; hopefully, it's just a new seller trying to make a name for themselves.

No, in most cases, China Post does not even know the weight of each parcel.

In order to save sorting cost and handling charge, before giving parcels to China Post, many big sellers have to put the parcels into huge bags sorted by country. Then they give the "country" bags to China Post . China Post will scale the huge " country" bag instead of each individual parcel and this will save a lot of China Post labor .

You're welcome! Honestly, while the tracking tools here are very good, I still think the best "feature" is that you can come onto the site and get personal assistance from someone who's knowledgeable and experienced with this kind of thing, namely chinapostvolunteer. There are a lot of tracking tools out there but when it comes to figuring out what's going on when the tracking information gets ambiguous, you kinda need a human to make sense of it, and I don't think any other site has that.

Thanks for your compliment, shadowspar. Actually in this forum, many volunteers like you and I from different countries donate their precious time to help people solve postal service related problems, not limited to China Post. I am very happy to see our knowledge and experience can benefit people here.
Enjoy shipping to/from China.

Received from Aliexpress:

"Your Order No:xxxxxx has been closed because the supplier did not provide necessary evidence. The payment will be refunded to you within 7-10 working days."

I am curious to see what he has sent with registered mail; i will show you once i receive it :)

The registered mail was delivered, but not to me, it went to another city
What he possibly did is:
1) Just send one empty envelope for each country and then give the same number to all the customers of that country. But in this case Aliexpress could easily see the trick
2) Obtain the tracking numbers of registered mails being sent the same day from somebody else; maybe with the help of someone working at another shop or at the post office.
In this case he did not spend any money to send the mail but he wasted a lot of time without succeeding in the evil project because he was stopped almost immediatly
