Post My China Post EMS shipment is stuck in the return process

Hello,

A letter I sent from Turkey to China (China Post EMS) was sent back to the return process on January 16, 2025 because it could not be delivered to the recipient. However, it appears that the last time it left the Urumqi Postal Processing Center was January 19, 2025, and there has been no update since then.

Is the letter still in the process of returning to Turkey, or is it stuck in a processing center somewhere in China? What can I do in this case? Or is there a delay due to Chinese New Year? How can I understand?

My tracking number is like: RR38*******TR

First of all RR*** parcel is not EMS, it is just a regular airmail. return mail has lowest priority. Normally it will take a couple of months to reach original shipping country. you need to wait some more time.

I got it thanks! When I tracked the cargo, I thought it was EMS because I could track the cargo from two different places, both China Post and China Post EMS. So, is the reason for this delay the Chinese New Year holiday? Also, I think it is illogical that it would take this long to return Turkey, cuz it took 6 days to reach Beijing, China from Turkey, Istanbul.

Return from China to Turkey is much slower than original route from Turkey to China. The reason is simple, China Post does not get money from Turkey Post for returning parcel. So it can only use the cheapest and slowest service to send it back.

I think I understand, thanks! When should I expect the next update? It seems like the possibility of shipping directly abroad from Urumqi is very low. It went to Urumqi via Beijing on the way out, could it be the same on the way back? And I guess the low cost return shipment you mentioned will be by cargo ship? What I sent was a letter envelope weighing 48 grams. I don't think the cost of sending it back to Turkey in the same way plane would be too much. I think there is no tracking update right now because of Chinese New Year holiday, is this true?

For a 48 gram letter, it will be returned by air cargo with lowest priority. Now is Chinese New Year holiday time, many mails are stuck in the warehouse waiting for processing. So your letter will take longer time than those high priority mails. Based on our experience, the return will take about 4 to 8 weeks to reach Turkey . You will see new update in Turkey Post website once it reaches Turkey airport and scanned by Turkey Post workers. If you can provide tracking number here, we can also follow up the mail for you.

I understand, if there is no congestion, it will be processed and sent quickly then. The probability of congestion is very high. Because now the Chinese New Year holiday. It will eventually reach Turkey, right? I'm very afraid it will get lost.

There are a few things I don't understand,
First, why does it say denied at customs (it doesn't say so on different tracking sites)
Second, how did it go to Urumqi despite being denied
Third, it reached Urumqi from Beijing in 2 days (3000km+), but on the way back, it set off on January 19, instead of 2 days, it's been 13 days and it still hasn't arrived Beijing. Maybe it has arrived Beijing but is waiting to be processed due to the holiday.

To be frank, if you want to get some more detail information, You need to provide the tracking number, English tracking result is useless for us to help you because it often has wrong translation from original china post data. We need to lookup the backend database with tracking number.

If for some reason, you don't want to give tracking number, then just be patient to wait. It will reach Turkey sooner or later.
