3. If by 12 Jan, you don't see any new movement on the USPS site for your parcel, maybe it would be time to consider to open a dispute for non reception of a parcel.

It means that the parcel is leaving the processing center and the final destination is Chicago.

2. Your parcel is possibly doing this:
Multi-hop routing:
Routing is a whole separate matter, but suffice it to say that “lowest cost” tends to win out over “fastest speed”. Mail shipments may transit many countries en route to their destination.

3. Unless there is a flight number attach to a parcel we never know when a parcel will physically depart from China and what route it will take.

Arrival at OOE: parcels arrive and are unloaded.
Sortation: parcels are sorted based on destination country.
