I wanted to know if this tracking number was legit. It will not let me track it via your website and my order status on the marketplace I bought the item from tells me it should have arrived by now. Tracking number is LS167972266CN. Thank you

I ordered some items from a website and I can't seem to find a way to track it. I've messaged to Support Center provided on the website, but have not recieved a reply, even though they said a reply would be received within 24 hours. It has been 72 hours now. The only information that I have been provided is That the status of the parcel is, "All Shipped," and there is a photo of the package provided. However, the photo is not one that I can really make out any information about other than the fac that it is indeed a package. And the only other information provided is that the parcel's REFERENCE number is BJ14458724786656, and it is through CHINA POST SURFACE MAIL. There is no avaialable TRACKING number. Only the reference number. Am I being scammed??

Well, I have three things for you...the good, the bad, and the ugly, as they say.

The good news is that the shipment exists. That's not a China Post tracking number; it's a tracking number used by a private logistics company called Sky56. You can track it -- sort of -- here: http://www.sky56.cn/english/track/index

The bad news is that that may be all the tracking you get. Usually these kind of companies act as "postal agents" -- they collect packages from sellers and ship them; they're not actually couriers themselves. As a rule, these companies only provide tracking up 'til the point where they hand things off to China Post, or otherwise send things out of China. Also see this FAQ: http://track-chinapost.com/?p=686

As for the ugly...it sounds like your item is going to be sent by ordinary surface mail, which has no tracking at all, and may take 3-6 months to arrive. Reputable sellers will not usually send anything by surface mail unless it is extremely heavy. If the website you bought the item from is something like eBay, AliExpress, etc, my understanding is that for some of them, untracked surface is not an acceptable shipping method for sellers and you will win a dispute if you open one.

Dude, AWESOME. I was able to track my package through the link you provided, and it has arrived in the US. How long it will take to get to California is still a mystery... But at least I know I'm not getting scammed. Thanks =)

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I have been given this tracking number RJ630806162CN and when I try using it to find out where my order is I get told that the number is invalid, I have tried it on China Post and An Post here in Ireland and keep getting the same response.

The number is in the right format for a China Post registered mail item, but it's not showing up in the tracking database. Either nothing has been sent using it yet, or the tracking information is unavailable -- the China Post tracking database is having serious problems lately.

Hey so, you helped me out a lot when i was having a problem tracking my package. Now that you gave me the right website, and confirmed that my tracking number was legit, I've been keeping up with its progress. For over a week, the progress was the same, simply saying it had been sent out. After this long period of no updates, suddenly a bunch of updates came all at once, on the same day. The final of these said that it had reach the U.S., and passed through customs. These new updates were not all from one day, they ranged over a span of about 3 days, but like I said, they showed up all at once on the same day. And now, once again, its been over 2 weeks this time, and there haven't been any updates. I'm wondering if I should be tracking my package a different way, now that it is in the U.S., and also wondering whats the hold up? Even if it was in NY, and I'm in CA, it doesn't take over two weeks to mail something across the country.. Whats up, can you help me out??

I checked my tracking number LS227486768CN that was given to meby the sender, every time I check it, it says invalid. Is this a legit number, maybe its not scanned into the system yet, or is it a fake number.
