Post Stuck on customs cleared?

Hello,

My parcel (No. CP325886669CN) cleared customs in Beijing on Oct. 24 and has not been seen since. I'm wondering of this length of delay is to be expected.

Its destination is the USA and USPS has not scanned it either.

2. I hope you are aware that your parcel is what is call China Post registered surface mail and can take up to 6 months for delivery.

3. Because your parcel is in Beijing I suspect it might take a flight out of China. But to get aboard the aircraft it would have last priority.

4. You will need to be patient and track your parcel on the USPS site. From the tracking I have seen, there is nothing wrong with the parcel and it's On Route to USA.

Thank you for your help.

I was not aware that it was China Post surface registered mail -- I asked for the fastest possible option and selected air mail when filling out the form (just confirmed by looking at my receipt).

Is it out of my hands at this point? It's an election ballot and needs to arrive by a certain date, much closer than six months. I admittedly pushed the deadline a bit.

1. There is also what is call in China Post SAL = Surface to Air Lift which also have CP number. Maybe the seller chose that type to send the parcel.

2. I also found this for you:
SAL: short for Surface Air Lifted. Ships, buses, and trains are used within the sending and receiving countries, but air transport is used between countries. Land and sea transport are used if there are no flights. Usually it takes 15 – 20 working days. The cost is lower than air mail.

Hi, thanks for the follow up. I am currently in China and sent this parcel myself. I selected 航空 AIR and told the clerk I wanted 最快的. I appreciate your help!
