Post Seems like there is severe delays at Guangzhou Airport

Can someone tell me why Guangzhou is soo delayed right now, my packages as well as others are all seems to be stuck at their export warehouse. It doesn't take weeks to ship to North America via plane. With New year's coming up, I am certain the delays would just be even worst.

Mine is on Guangzhou, delivered to air transport since 18 Jan, not sure if that is slow or not cause never had a epacket ship from here.

But I do wish the “delivered to air transport” status was more clear, no one can tell me if it means that it’s at their export warehouse till after CNY or if it means the flight took off on the 18th and it’s on route to my local customs and escaped the CNY.

It is most likely still at Guangzhou airport warehouse. I ordered something last week and it flew out from Xiamen airport when the status was “delivered to air transport” it only took 2 days for it to Land in Canada. Too bad we can't choose which airport our parcels transits to. I would avoid the major hubs: Guangzhou, Beijing, and shanghai. They seem to be notoriously bad for delays.

Deliver to air transport is actually good sign. In many cases, this is the last update i see on my packages, before it reaches north america.
However, it doesnt mean its already on the plane. It might be already, but also might be waiting for next available carrier.
Normally, after i see the message, it reaches canadian customs in one or two weeks max.

I too often see delivered to air transport and then arrived at destination as next step on other people’s tracking.

I mean mine got delivered to air transport only last Friday night so I’m not too worried, but I do hope it means that it took off before CNY and not after 1 Feb.

Just for info my parcel just arrived an hour ago ( Jan 23 at 1am ) to my local customs arrival depot in my country and it was handed over to airline at Guangzhou on Jan 18 so it took 5 days to get here.

I’m not gonna claim that means that there is no delay but I ordered my parcel on 14 Jan, 18 Jan hand over to air transport and 23 Jan arrived in my country so I guess it’s down to when a plane leaves or how many parcels they got for your country so a flight might fill up and skip your parcel.

Anyway I hope my info helps to keep some people calm, if your tracking says something like hand over to air transport before Chinese New Year began your parcel is probably on route to your local customs without delay.
