Hi, I have ordered a package off Amazon on the 7th August 2016. I was told it will dispatch from New Jersey, USA but instead it departed from China. Estimated delivery date was 18-27 of August but it now is the 1st of September and my package has been at "Leaving airport going to next airport/seaport" since August 18th. Can someone explain this.
Thanks.

Tracking No. RJ823756727CN

2016-08-18 13:16:00.0 arrive Shanghai Int'l Airport
2016-08-18 13:35:33.0 leaving Shanghai Int'l Airport going to next airport/seaport

(Today is 2016-09-01 in this date format)

1. I did track your parcel on different sites and came to the same tracking as you. If seller told you that the parcel would depart from USA, then he lied to you. He lied again about the arrival of the parcel.

2. Now what I can see about your parcel, you should read this for Ireland:
http://track-chinapost.com/China_Post_Arrival_Time_Stat.php

3. Your parcel has been on the road for 24 days so far. It stayed in Shanghai for over a week before departing to Ireland, possibly due to no availability to put the Mail Bag into the Aircraft.

4. I have also check Ireland Post and this is what I get:
Tracking Results

Our Item Tracking system has not recognised the number(s) that you have entered. Please check that you have entered the correct number(s), or we may not have yet received the item(s).

If you have entered a correct number(s) and have received no response, please contact our Customer Service section at [email protected] or on 1850 57 58 59 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Customers calling from outside the Republic of Ireland should dial +353-1-705 7600. Delivery records are only available for items delivered within the Republic of Ireland.

5. Maybe you could give them a call (Ireland Post) to find out if they received a parcel from China. I do know that some country will not track (or let us know the tracking) China Post Registered Mail because they are not getting paid for it. Maybe Ireland is part of those country.

6. Last but not least, you should contact seller and tell him you have not received your parcel. If the answer of the seller does not meet your expectation, then open a dispute to get your money back. You could also wait another week to see if the parcel will arrive to you.

Hope this help.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. It was ordered from Amazon, and the delivery time Amazon gives is their estimate not the sellers. Indeed the info given on the Amazon page is wrong :
-Usually dispatched within 6 - 10 business days.
-Dispatched from NJ, United States. Learn more about international shipping.

I have contacted the seller and this is what I received:

Hello,
I am really sorry for the delay.
The parcel is still in the way,and it takes some time to deliver to Ireland from China actually.
And the delivery information was not updated yet.
So could you please wait a few more days?
Thank you for your understanding.
And contact us please if there's any problem.
Best regards!

That's why I reached out here because you here seem to know more about post than the seller. Mainly what I am wondering is if this situation happens often and doesn't mean that my package is lost or anything happened to it.

1. Just reading the comment of the seller and he seems to be a good seller.

2. Have you phone Ireland Post about your parcel, will they track your parcel on arrival or will they track your parcel after it clear the Ireland Customs Office or will they not track your parcel at all.

3. Depending on the answer of para 2, your parcel might be in Ireland but not clear yet by Customs Office. Your parcel in the mail bag might be stuck because the Aircraft broke down somewhere on the journey to Ireland. How many hop from the initial flight did the mail bag had to do to get to Ireland, maybe they had to drop the mail bag somewhere along the way because they were missing room on the Aircraft for passenger bags.

4. Like I said earlier you could wait another week to see what going to happen, even your seller told you the same thing. China Post Airmail Parcel Estimate Arrival Time for Ireland is:
Fastest: 11 days
Average: 19
Longest: 26

The above is not firm dates but only estimate timing and this should not include the time the parcel spent in the Customs Offices in China and in Ireland.

5. The worse thing that could happen is the parcel is lost, it does happen not frequently because it's registered mail so China Post and Ireland post need to follow the parcel all the way till you sign for it.

Hope this help,
