RC839324477CN this is the tracking number I was given. It says it custom scan but that was five days ago and nothing else has happened. Could this be a fake number and if not is stuck somewhere. thanks for any help in advance!

No need worry. Sometime status not changing does not mean the parcel does not move. Some parcel status never change even after recipient get the parcel.
