The item was shipped two days back but the tracking number does not give any details. Please suggest.

you can track it in http://track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php, there should be some tracking result.

If tracking result is "Success find: 0 items!", it means the tracking number is invalid. China Post has NOT received this parcel.

The link shows the status now. Any idea how much time it will take to reach indian territory?

keep checking the website, when you see status changes to "sent to airline", normally this means the parcel will arrive India within 2 to 4 weeks.

normally the parcel will arrive your country within 2 to 3 weeks after the "sent to airline" date.
