2. The problem seems to be at the delivery office:

3. Is it possible that the recipient refuse the parcel, because normally the parcel would stay at the Post Office for a few weeks. Or maybe there was something wrong with the company name and address and phone number.

4. I suspect when you receive the parcel back maybe you can see the reason the parcel was rejected.

5. Maybe also the recipient could call China Post to try to stop the parcel from going back to USA (percentage of chance won't be big to stop the parcel).
