Post USPS to China - Package is in China but has been stuck in the same status

Hi! I hope you guys can help me out. I sent a package to China (returned a product I ordered) and it has been in the same spot now for over a week.

The tracking number from USPS is CW688053214US.
When I track it, this is what I get

May 14, 2015 , 2:08 pm
Departed
Guangzhou, CHINA
Your item departed a transfer airport in Baiyun, Guangzhou, CHINA on May 14, 2015 at 2:08 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

I called USPS, and they said that they can't get any details once it is in China. However, they did help me by setting up a case and requesting China to investigate it (though, they said that China could take up to 25 days to investigate it).

Is there any way for me to confirm any further information regarding the status of the package?

I think you have found the best solution. No other way to get more information about your parcel than USPS investigation request to China Post.
