Greetings,

I am calculating total cost for importing 2 packages through international surface (freight).

Estimates are based on:

Current results (China>USA):
16 RMB (Customs Charge) 8 RMB x 2
61.45 (Insurance Charge) 6145 / 100 Yuan
16 (Insurance Commission) 8 x 2 package
766 (Surface to USA) [83 x 2] + [15kg x 2] x 20
-----
Total: 859.45 RMB

Next, I know port/customs arrival postal code: 07097
And final destination postal code: 24954

USPS calculation shows $71.68 ($35.84 x2 for both package)

Grand Total: $210.14

a. Did I miss any fees?
b. Is the USPS domestic rate different for landed international packages?
c. May I tell ChinaPost to transfer to specific carrier in USA, such as USPS or Fedex.
cc. As well as specific service such as USPS Priority Mail 3-Day?
d. Will ChinaPost accept a specific port of entry for import to USA?
e. Registration fee adds tracking?

Any answers to these are helpful.

surface parcel is very very slow. It might take about half year to reach USA. You'd better use register mail to ship goods to USA. Max weight 2 kg.

China Post register mail will be transfered to USPS first class mail parcel after it arrives USA.

China Post register mail can be tracked in http://track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php and
http://track-chinapost.com/startusa.php

China Post Register airmail might take 2 to 6 weeks to arrive USA. If you want faster service, you need use UPS or Fedex from China. However, UPS/Fedex are much more expensive.
