Post Returned parcel due to bad weather

Hello everybody,

My order was placed on Sep 22, shipped on 24th from Shenzhen via chinapost and was today returned to the seller due to bad weather. The shipping method was ordinary small packet.

Perhaps this could be a reason why so many people are experiencing delays/not getting their parcels on time. On top of that, China is having a national day holiday lasting an entire week. Just sharing the info.

Folks worrying about their parcels should contact their sellers to check if their parcels were cancelled due to bad weather, especially those originating from South China. Good luck...

1. It would have been nice to have the tracking number, maybe you mean that China Post did not accept your parcel because of the weather. I really doubt that China Post returned the parcel to the seller when it was in the hands of China Post.

Thanks

Hi,
I googled china post announcements and it appears southeast China was hit by a typhoon from Sep 14. The related articles are:
http://www.singpost.com/about-us/service-announcements/international?date_filter%5Bvalue%5D&page=1
http://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317#China

If chinapost didnt accept the parcel, then I dont know why the seller took so long to inform me but instead told me it had been shipped via chinapost 2 days after ordering. I chose the cheapest shipping method w/o tracking as it was a low value item.

Or my parcel may have been returned because chinapost did not think there was a reasonable time frame to wait or I had paid for a cheap service or both. I received a refund in this case.

On the brighter side, this is only one of three parcels ordered on the same day that was returned. The other two were still in progress after contacting the sellers. Maybe they were posted from different regions or I just got lucky.

1. I will try to explain to you how China seller are working. You order an article from a seller on a site lets say Ali Express. The seller is pressure by Ali Express to have a tracking number and shipping details in least then 5 days. It's good practice and good for the business.

2. So the seller are complying to that but this does no necessary means that the parcel is physically mail when they give you your tracking number and saying the parcel is shipped.

3. Seller gets the tracking number electronically from China Post and from there on that tracking number can be put to your parcel with the Custom declaration form.

4. Also maybe you parcel did not pass the China Post Security or Customs check, but without the tracking number I can not speculate on that.

Hope this help.
