Dear All,

Of late, I have observed quite a number of us buyers facing the same issue; our shipments are either stuck or got held up for a very long period at the Guangzhou airport. From my observations, these shipments have the alphabets starting from RM, RS, RO, and lately RJ too.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with us all that I am also facing the same problem with several of my shipments.

You may check the status of my shipments which are currently stuck at the Guangzhou airport (e.g. RM694676831CN, RM679884457CN, RJ783995956CN, RS049482475CN, RS027320309CN). These shipments have arrived at the Guangzhou airport and was sent to airline, around 4 - 9 times (and nobody knows when the process is going to end, meaning nobody will ever know if and when these shipments will be able to leave the Guangzhou airport). Meaning also that these shipments have not left China. Every 1 -2 days the new status will read that the same process is happening again - arrive at the Guangzhou airport - sent to airline - repeat.

Does it make any sense at all that there is no space in the airline for a small parcel containing 3 t-shirts? And it has been close to 2 months now.

Some of the sellers (at AliExpress) are nice; they seem to be aware of the problem and tend to be very co-operative. But quite a lot others just don't bother. After multiple messages which were ignored and dispute filed, then only they respond. Giving promises that they will go check with the post office. However, these sellers either have not done enough or did nothing to solve the issue on behalf of us buyers.

For myself, I don't speak Mandarin. So, it is impossible for me to check with the Guangzhou airport or customs why my packages got stuck (when there're only t-shirts inside).

My stance at present is to stay away from purchasing anything (from AliExpress) and wait for clear indication that whatever issues surrounding the Guangzhou airport has been settled (for whatever reasons most shipments from China are shipped via the Guangzhou airport it seems).

Furthermore, my advice to buyers is to ask and check with sellers on the route of their shipments. If their shipments will have to go through the Guangzhou airport, please avoid. Otherwise you'll get your shipment stuck, your money stuck, and you will have to bear a very long battle (with sellers and then with AliExpress) to get either your orders or your money back.

Believe me, the process is not worth it.

Several of the shipments did managed to get passed the Guangzhou airport, eventually. However, the ETA for these shipments are 1.5 to 2 months after the items are being shipped out by the sellers. On the other hand, shipments that went through other ports (other than Guangzhou) require only about 1.5 to 2 weeks to arrive.

Nevertheless, some other shipments remain to be seen i.e. RM694676831CN (5x going back and forth from and to the Guangzhou airport) and RM679884457CN (9x going back and forth from and to the Guangzhou airport). Both shipments are for purchases made in April 2016.

Here are also few others the relatively new ones RJ783995956CN (5x going back and forth from and to the Guangzhou airport and counting) and RO229881973CN (3x going back and forth from and to the Guangzhou airport and counting). When will the process ends? It will be anybody guess.

When you think that the shipment has finally left China, then, the next update that you will get (after 5 or 7 days of no update will be "Leaving parcel center【 Guangzhou航站】 Sent to airline". So, in essence, although what is happening at the Guangzhou airport is giving a seriously bad name to China Post in general, I would rather say that the problem is currently is prevalent at the Guangzhou airport and not other airports.

So, just be prepared to receive your shipments significantly late than expected if the tracking number that you received starts with alphabets RM, RS, RO and RJ (most recently). So far shipments with tracking numbers beginning from RL have been okay. I'll update here on shipments with tracking numbers beginning with alphabets RD, RF, RI, and RK very soon.

1. There is 2 possibility, Guangzhou Airport are having serious problems with the Mail Bags.

You parcel is in a Mail Bag trying to get aboard an Aircraft for your country but there is no room for the Mail Bag so it is going back and trying to find a Flight out of Guangzhou Airport.
Or the Mail Bag did not pass the last security check at the Airport so it has to go back and be check again by security.
