China Post will not scan and update its status after it left first post office. so you can not see new status and know where it is now. china post ordinary parcel might take 4 to 12 weeks to reach your country.

That's really bad policy to keep people wondering where their merchandise is if there is a TRACKING NUMBER!

No. Anyone can use a software to apply a tracking number and print a shipping label at home. However , the tracking number is invalid until shipper stick the shipping label to a parcel and give this parcel to China post. So if your tracking number shows invalid tracking result, it means your seller did not ship the goods.
