I ordered something at the start of the month, and its status has been 'opening' since 6/11/2014. Is this normal?

if no battery inside, no need worry, it it is waiting for export scan.

I have 28 days left on my purchase protection from Aliexpress - how long does waiting for an export scan usually take?

now is rush season, processing time in airline and customs are all very long. you can wait 3 more weeks, if not arrive, then open dispute to aliexpress.
