tracking #: CP379920258CN
in status "on route", but it was processed a week ago. I need it in a distribution center by the 22nd or the 23rd if I'm going to receive it on time for when I need the item.

Should I be worried?

CP379920258CN is called sea/air combined parcel. This is a slow service ,arrival time can take 20 to 180 days. You have very little chance to get it before Oct 23.

When should I be expecting a new update to the tracking?

I can risk getting it on the 27th or 29th if it arrives in certain centers, but any time after that and I won't have it on time.

Also it was accepted on the 3rd of this month, that'd be more than 20 days, so getting closer to 24 isn't too unthinkable?

Also the package is less than 2kg, it has to be airmail.

As I told you, arrival time can from 20 to 180 days. Average is about 50 days. You have very small chance (less than 10%) to get it before Oct 29. The won't be any update until it arrives USA, this might also need take 20 to 170 days.

once it arrives USA, USPS.com tracking page will show its location in USA.

Thank you for your response.

However, that's for combined shipping, right? The weight of the package was less than 2 kg so I would like to know what is the range and average for airmail for parcels?

It also said it was sent to an airline so doesn't that mean it's air?

if less than 2kg, it should go through air. You should get it in about 30 days.
