http://track-chinapost.com/track_global.php shows it was just shipped on May 4th. it is on the way to USPS import center in Chicago.

you can not see new status until the parcel is released from USPS import center. this might take 4 to 8 weeks.

Why so long until it is released from the usps import?

USPS import processing becomes extremely slow since March 2017. US government never gave any reason to public. Maybe you can find some way to talk to your government.
