Can you help me with the delivery status of a parcel that I sent to China?
It has not been updated since the 10th of June. According to the last update, there's information missing.

Tracking number CC057078016NL (PostNL International)
Postal code: 341400

(Further address details are of course available on request)

I've also been given the recipients phone number to solve the problem. It was unknown to me before so it's not on the shipping label (only a CC email address). I'd rather not post the phone number here just yet, but will do so if you need it.

Could you tell me what happens when a parcel is delayed for this long? Has it perhaps been returned to sender? Thanks.

your parcel arrived China Post sorting centre in 上海市嘉民处理中心 on Jul 16. It should be delivered within these two days. You can ask receiver to call china post hotline 11185 to inquiry delivery detail.

Is this thread still monitored?

If so: I've an additional question... I contacted the recipient, he told me that only a mobile phone number can declare customs clearance... Is this true?

Do you normally contact a recipient when you have questions? And is this only by phone?

recipient should call China Post hotline 11185 or 11183 first, then China Post will guide him go to the customs, pay duty and pickup the parcel.
