Hi,

I have a package being sent from the US to Beijing that is on hold with EMS in Beijing. I forgot to include sender and receiver phone numbers on the customs declaration form and I would like to figure out how add the phone numbers to the form or to email my copy of the form to them (with the correct phone numbers added) so that they can contact the receiver properly.

None can add phone or change address in a parcel which is in transit.

You can ask receiver call China Post hotline 11185 and try to pickup the parcel from China Post office after arriving.

That has worked in the past but things are different now. New policy as I understand it is that they have to call the receiver to collect the tax.

Also the receiver already tried to call the hotline and didn’t get anywhere with that. They told the receiver that the phone numbers needed to be added from the US side somehow. I asked over here and they didn’t have a good answer. They suggested contacting EMS.

Any more ideas?

http://track-chinapost.com/result_china.php?order_no=EH017669987US shows the parcel arrived Beijing customs on Dec 23. I suggest you ask receiver to call EMS hotline 11183 to make customs clearance and pickup the parcel.

Thank you for the suggestion. I can have them try again. As I mentioned though they already tried that and it didn’t work. How would I make that call from the US?

you can try to call +86-10-11183 from USA. English is not very commonly spoken in China. You can try your luck.

Thank you. I have internet searched. When I did I found this same number. I tried it. Their main menu comes on and while I do know some Chinese I can’t understand what the different number options are. I have tried different numbers and it leads to more automated messages that I don’t understand. Could you help me figure out if there is a number to press to just talk to a real person?

But people are taught English there. My wife is from China and her English is very good. If I can talk to someone young enough they might be able to help me.
