I purchased a wedding gown from Aliexpress

Tracking Number: CP258700435CN

The seller (SuZhou Runyong Wedding Dress Co.,Ltd) keeps telling me it's coming and it's on the sea. How long does it take for it to arrive in Canada?

CP258700435CN is a surface parcel, the arrival time should be from 2 weeks to 2 months.

I believe the wedding dress should be expensive items(over $100),right? Normally expensive item should be shipped by Express Mail or other fast and reliable courier service. You seller shouldn't use such cheap and slow shipping service.

You'd better contact seller and ask for compensation. If seller refuse to compensate you, open a dispute to aliexpress.

Hi again, I still want the dress (and it hasn't reached the full 2 months yet) so I haven't opened a dispute yet, but the Location still says "20110600" - and Date "20140413 1337"... does this mean it's still not shipped or is the package on a boat, in the ocean somewhere?

http://track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php shows the parcel last location is in Shanghai customs warehouse. It might be on the boat, might be still sleeping in the warehouse. China Post does not guarantee CP parcel accurate arrival time, CP is a very cheap service which has lowest priority to get space. We suggest you to open a dispute to aliexpress if you are still within buyer protection deadline.

RB859573062CN is an over-half-year old parcel. from track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php , it seems to be rejected by customs in changsha. why didn't take any action for so long time? now it is too late to get your money back.
