Post Invalid tracking number

I placed an order with one of the largest on line merchants from China a few weeks ago, I choose China Post Registered Air mail as the shipping option.

A tracking number was provided when I received the notice that the item was shipped:
71030302971 and when I go to track the number I get an "invalid tracking number"

I emailed the merchant asking him for a valid tracking number and they responded that due to the economy shipping option I choose there is no tracking number issued.

I find this unusual because I have placed numerous orders choosing China Post Registered Air mail and always receive a tracking number with "RD" preceding and two letters at the end of the number.

I'm now suspicious that this order was ever shipped.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions regarding this tracking number.

1. This is what I found for you:
Parcel No.71030302971 tracking result
2016-05-30 13:32:27.0 Guangzhou Transit Station export security scan

2. Your parcel is not a registered Mail parcel from China Post. It is what is call a China Post Small Packet Plus parcel with limited tracking and can be track only in China.

3. Sometimes you will have more tracking and sometimes you will have less tracking. Also please read this:

What does the status “Export Security Scan” mean? How long it will take?

4. Please note also the lately in Guangzhou Airport there has been delays cause by closer Security check on parcel going overseas.

5. Also note that only one tracking gave the country that it was going Canada. Because of the labor dispute going on with Canada Post and their employees, your parcel will be delay.

6. China Post Airmail Parcel Estimate Arrival Time for Canada is between 30 to 60 days.
