I bought something from AliExpress during the 11.11 sale and the seller issued this tracking number (YT1631708979256975) for the shipment. What is weird about this shipment is it clearly states the shipment completed US customs clearance process on 11/18/16 @16:19. Then, after travelling thousands of miles, the package arrived at the carrier facility in Lilburn, US, on 11/21/16 @00:01 three days later on. The distance between the carrier facility in Lilburn and my home is less than 10 miles and I still have not received the package as of today 11/23/16 @12:40 (after 3 days its arrival at the local carrier facility in Lilburn, US). I checked with the local carrier facility (USPS) and was told that there was no such a shipment. So, what is going on? Is this a scam? If not, how could the tracking number show all the shipment status arrived at the local carrier facility nearby my home while there is no evidence at the local carrier facility (USPS) of this shipment?

FYI, this is happening for the 2nd time with such a tracking number starting with "YT". I ended up getting a full refund from the seller through an AliExpress dispute.

1. If you ask USPS with the tracking number YT1631708979256975, sure enough they won't be able to tell you anything. Because that number does not register into the tracking system of USPS. And by the way, whether it's you country or any other country in the world the tracking number of Yun Express is only good for Yun Express internal tracking system.

2. As for your parcel, it must be in the sorting of the Lilburn USPS, It should be deliver to you just like a normal letter. If you don't receive it by one week of arrival, then it's lost or misplace.

Hope this help.

I understood what you said above. What I don't understand is how could Yun Express declare the shipment has already passed the US custom clearance and arrived at our local USPS facility for distribution. Doing so will only cause me to lose in a dispute shall the shipment never arrives.

Thank you for the link.

I certainly would like to think you probably are right that USPS gave Yun Express the info. However, I don't understand why the shipment reported by Yun Express arrived at our local (USPS) facility on 11/21/16 (5 days ago) is still not delivered to our address.

1. I was just surfing on the net to find out where is Lilburn Post Office and found out a few comments, it's not the greatest USPS Post office. Holiday USPS:
Thursday, November 24 Thanksgiving Day.

Hope this help.

I don't suppose you were trying to infer the shipment gets delayed due to recent Thanksgiving holiday, were you? If so, the shipment has already arrived there way before the Thanksgiving holiday. FYI and except this shipment, we did get some other shipments bought from China (during the same last 11.11 sale) the day after Thanksgiving.

1. Then only one thing to do, contact your seller and tell him you have not receive your parcel. You should maybe ask him also how Yun Express knows that the parcel is in your city. Maybe it's a guessing game from Yun Express

Hope this help.

I did. The seller responded asking me to be patience awaiting for the shipment to arrive and never addressed the issue w.r.t the notification put out by Yun Express.

Like I said before, it is very dangerous for Yun Express to put out such messages saying the shipment has arrived at local facility without any solid proof. This will probably cause us to lose in case of a dispute.

1. Why would you lose a case in a dispute, if USPS does not deliver your parcel or misplace the parcel, It's not your fault. Unless USPS have some evidence that the parcel was deliver, then you should be OK.

2. The seller is the one taking a chance to send the parcel with that type of shipping, he understand that in USA or any other country in the World, there will be no tracking so he is assuming the risk that the parcel never make it to the recipient. 99% of those type of parcel make it to their recipient.

3. If he does not want to take that risk, then he should tell all his client that parcel to overseas will only be China Post Register mail.

Hope this help.
