Post Help find my package.

I've been tracking my package, all seemed fine until it cleared customs and left Shanghai
There have been no updates in over a week. And my local post office said it has not arrived in Canada yet.
Is it normal for it to be stuck for a week or more after it clears customs and leaves the departing country?
Is there any way to find out where it is?

the parcel should have left china one week ago. it will keep travel another 3 to 5 weeks before arriving canada. you can not see news status when parcel is outside china.

Ok so it's normal for it to take a few weeks between China and its destination.
That's what I was wondering. I have tried tracking locally but it hasn't arrived here in Canada yet.
It's good to know that a few weeks between us normal.

Canada Post does not scan inbound register mail parcel from China since Oct 1st. So even the parcel has arrived Canada, you can not track it in Canada Post website as before.

In future, I suggest you use ePacket to ship goods from china to Canada. The parcel number like LM****CN. It is a little bit more expensive (+4 bucks) than register mail, but much faster. The most important , it can be tracked in both China Post and Canada Post website. In Canada, China Post ePacket is shipped through Express Mail service, super fast.
