Post Fake tracking number?

I recently bought something online and the seller gave me a tracking number on 11.01.18. Ive tried tracking but just comes up as 'no shipping record' and on other tracking sites as 'not found' but seller says there is delay in tracking system. Can you please help? Tracking number is LX099488768CN.a

Once the item is mailed it should show up in tracking within 48 hours. If it takes much longer than that, ask them when they're really going to mail your item. If you don't like their answer, open a dispute.

Could you please check the tracking number if this actually a valid number and if there are any updates on it please? Thank you.

The format of the number is valid, still nothing associated with it has been received by China Post. You can check yourself here: http://track-chinapost.com/startems.php?code=LX099488768CN
