it was listed Departure from outward office of exchange on the 16th and is listed as "posting" from GUANGDONG on the 17th and there has been no movement what so ever since then wondering what happened tracking # is RI578609053CN

it should have left China. Normally the location status will freeze for 2 to 5 weeks after the parcel left China.

Your parcel has left China; Canada Post knows it's coming, but it hasn't yet arrived in Vancouver.

Just as a heads-up, lately between Customs clearance and Canada Post, things have been taking a looooong time to get delivered. It is quite likely to take longer to get from Vancouver to you than it'll take to get from China to Vancouver.

allright thanks i just figured i'd ask, i just purchased an item last month that shipped from china it arrived in 10 days from the 7th to the 17th sept, was concerned that it just fell off the world since there has been no updates.

Ah, yeah. The other thing is that there probably won't be any more updates. Back in August Canada Post decided they weren't going to bother posting tracking online for inbound registered items. See here:

ahhhh i see, wow that's incredibly stupid! thanks for that lil tidbit of information...now i understand why my other package arrived and was tracked as well because it didn't have an R before it.
thanks again at least i know it's in country
