Ok, so the first thing to do is to check around your house or apartment to make sure your friendly mailperson hasn't delivered it somewhere non-obvious.

If you're in a house, check inside both your front & back doors, the back porch, even the garage, if you can believe that. Check your mailbox even if you've been switched to a CMB. Check with your neighbours to see if one of them grabbed the parcel for you, or if it was dropped off at the wrong house by accident (yes, it has happened).

If you're in an apartment, check your mailbox, the lobby, even talk to the super and have a look around the building in case they dropped it off at the wrong apartment number by mistake.

If that doesn't turn anything up...I would check with my nearest post office as soon as possible -- before they close today, if they're still open, or first thing tomorrow -- to see if they can help figure out where your item got delivered to. I really, really hope that your item wasn't delivered to a wrong address, or stolen from your doorstep or mailbox, but sadly that's a possibility. =(
