Post Ordinary Post v Registered Poat

I ordered an item from CHINA on 3rd August 2016 to be delivered by ORDINARY POST and received it 12 days later on 15th August.
I had previously ordered another item from China on 18th July 2016 to be sent by registered post and after 28 days i am still waiting for it!
I know i will get it sometime but it would appear that registered post come by a slow boat from China and Ordinary post come by the quickest jet plane in the sky.
Someone mentioned that Registered post come by the MERRY GO ROUND system and i now well believe it! The only consolation is that it will come eventually. i hope!
Any views on this matter would be appreciated.

1. It would have been nice to have the tracking numbers of both parcels.

2. China Post Ordinary Small Packet mail can take from 30 to 60 days, but I had parcel cross the Ocean pacific and deliver to me in 3 weeks time and I had some deliver to me in 8 weeks time frame. We never know how much time those type of parcel will take. There is to much variable like room in an Aircraft (ordinary parcel has last priority), how fast it went to the Airport, how fast it went through China Customs, how fast it go through your Country Customs and finally how fast your country Postal system will deliver the parcel.

3. Now the China Post Registered parcel need to be scan all the time when it arrive in a location (more manipulation) then follow the same procedure as the Ordinary Parcel. When it arrive in your country they need to scan the parcel all the way up to the delivery and make you sign for it.

4. So, has you can see there is more work involve in the China Post Registered Mail against the Ordinary Mail Parcel.

Hope this help.

I agree with everything you said about the extra work involved in the posting/tracking of a registered package. My point is that there is no consistency in the days it takes to deliver a registered item. The deliver can vary from 18 days to over 40 days. It is just pot luck on when you get your item and also you are at the mercy of the slow workings of the custom officials and it is just your bad luck if your package arrives in an airport where the customs are under staffed. . When they get rid of all this inconsistency and give a more reasonable time of delivery then i would say it is satisfactory.

1. I agree with you, but this is the price we have to pay for ordering outside our countries. In our country, there is norms for delivery, no customs check so basically we know when to expect are parcel.

Thanks.
