Post Guangzhou Depart to Ireland

The last departure point of many of my packages from China to Ireland is Guangzhou. The delivery time from departure from Guangzhou to my home has varied from 4 days to up to 20 days. Why is there such a difference in delivery days? If a package leaves Guangzhou on a certain date is it not reasonable to think that all packages should arrive in the same number of days leaving a allowance for a couple of days?

I can fly to China in 24 hours! Why does a package take weeks?

2. Also in the last few months we have seen parcel doing what was call the Mary go round, meaning departure and arrival many times in Guangzhou Airport. This was due to more closer security check on the part of China Post but it seems now that the situation in back to normal. I have not seen this anymore.
