I ordered an item from China on 11th November which was posted by no tracking ordinary mail and the item was successfully delivered on 23rd November. This item just took 12 days to get from China to Ireland. Why do items which you can track take far longer, sometimes up to 50 days?

How does the international mail system work? How is mail routed from one country to another?

I can fly to China in 24 hours! Why does a package take weeks?
