tablet is not allowed by airmail. your parcel should have been rejected in customs. open dispute and claim refund asap.

for some reason there is a new update from a few days ago but shows last month date.... what does this mean?

it means the parcel is transit to china post guangzhou branch. you should ask receiver call china post hotline 11185 and pickup the parcel.
