Approx. 5-6 weeks ago I purchased item from aliexpress.com and was given the following tracking number: LM164411655CN

A couple of days ago I was notified that a package with this tracking number had arrived in Norway (where I live), but then suddenly the package was forwarded in Norway to a terminal further away from me.

After contacting the Norwegian Postal Service (www.posten.no) it turns out that the physical package associated with tracking number LM164411655CN which had arrived in Norway IS NOT addressed to me - neither by name nor address.
(it's an address in another part of the country)

I was told that the reason might be because of duplicate tracking numbers and my only viable option was to "hope for the best" and that my package would eventually arrive

I have contacted the seller on aliexpress.com but have not received any reply just yet.

But if there were actually 2 physical packages using the same tracking number, how would that be reflected in the tracking info when tracking? Shouldn't both physical packages be registered when they pass through various points on their way to the destination, or? What happens if 2 packages use the same tracking number?
