The seller from aliexpress had given me this tracking number (by epacket)- LS614968966CN . It doesn't seem to work on the main tracking website on or any other tracking website. I've tried it here and I found out that it's an old tracking number from 2016 that has already been received. The seller told me to wait as the product just shipped today, what should I do???

You can wait 3 more days and track again. Normally seller need wait 2 to 3 days to actually ship the goods after applying tracking number. You should push seller to do actual shipment immediately. Tell him if you can not track the parcel by next Monday, you will open dispute to aliexpress against fraud.
