What does hand in air mean

As used in tracking

Thank you friend! So since the last item says "sent to airline" what should I be waiting for now.and time wise too?

After the date "sent to airline", parcel will be waiting in airline warehouse for next available airline space to destination. Normally, this procedure will take another 2 to 4 weeks, then parcel will catch flight and arrive USA.
