Post Tracking Number Scam?

I live in Canada and recently ordered a variety of items from Amazon.ca which were through 3rd party sellers. I have two shipments that make me nervous:

Shipment #1
On February 5th, 2017 I was told by the seller MEXUD that my item had shipped from China Post and was provided with tracking number LM257964501CN. When I try to track this number on this website nothing is returned (like the number doesn't even exist). I contacted the seller asking if maybe there was a mistake with the tracking number but they said that is the correct number and it shipped on February 5th and to just keep waiting. From what I have read on this site there should at the very least be a record of this item that it was accepted by China Post on what date. Is there any way to tell if this is a fake tracking number/scam?

Shipment #2
On February 3rd, 2017 I placed another order through seller UStide. I received confirmation from the seller that the order had shipped on February 15th, 2017 and was provided with tracking number LM268139771CN. I have checked this number on the site and it also has no information. Perhaps in this case it is too early to track? I have contacted the seller twice since February 3rd but have received no responses whatsoever.

I am nervous about both of these transactions but was hoping someone could tell me if these are legitimate tracking numbers or whether they are scam numbers and nothing will be coming to me.

I have reported the first shipment (February 5th) to Amazon.ca and they have put it into their claims process so I will likely receive a refund. The second shipment the seller has almost 100% positive feedback on Amazon so I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Is there any chance that LM268139771CN just hasn't been long enough to be in the system? It was shipped on February 15th at 3:00am my time and it is now only the 16th at 6:00pm my time (39 hours). Or do you know that it is in no way a valid number?

So there is a chance that the second number I gave you (LM268139771CN) is not fake?

if you purchased from Amazon, no need worry. 99% sellers there are good. Please wait a couple of days and your tracking number will show result. Even if you meet the 1% bad guy, you can easily get your money back if you can not get it in time.

The second tracking number is now showing this:

Summary

Tracking number Origin Destination Status
LM268139771CN CHINA CANADA On route
History Detail

Local date/time Activity Location Remarks
20-Feb-2017 17:42 Received by Post Office 301700
21-Feb-2017 10:07 Departure export customs BEIJING EMS

What exactly does all this mean and when could I expect the item to arrive in Canada?

this means your seller just shipped the parcel. it is on the way. Wait about 10 to 15 days, it will arrive Canada.
