Why mobile phone is so important to make proper delivery in China?

If you ship a parcel to China, it is very important to write recipient’s mobile phone number in the parcel. Why? The reason are as follows:

1)When a parcel arrives in China customs, China Post needs to send a notification message to recipient. Without mobile phone number, recipient can not even know the parcel has arrived China and needs customs clearance.

2)The notification message from China Post has a passcode which allows the recipient to make customs clearance through cell phone APP. Without this passcode, the recipient needs to call China Post and go to the China Post local warehouse to make customs clearance in person.

3)Unlike Western countries, China is experiencing a fast development procedure. Most of the new developed areas don’t have reliable address system. So China Post needs call recipient before make proper delivery. In most of the cases, China Post delivery guys only drop the parcel to a local pickup hub and send a pickup notification text message to recipient .
