1. CP parcel from China are Registered Surface Mail, your parcel departed Beijing to Vancouver by Aircraft. I guess you were lucky that the parcel did not take a ship to Canada.
2. Also your parcel came in Inbound Mail in Vancouver, all mail are place in a bin and possibly a dog go around that bin for inspection and nothing was found. So Canada Customs Officer release that bin to Canada Post for distribution in Canada.
3. For all R parcel from China which are Airmail Registered parcel, Canada Post does not track anymore those parcel because China Post does not give Canada Post any money for it to be scan. We are not the only country doing that. But from what I have learn from an other blog from a Canada Post employee is that they still scan the parcel when it goes from one place to the other but this info is only internal info for them.
4. Canada Post need to know all the time where a parcel is in case of lost. that is why they do scan the parcel but don't let us know were it's at.
5. For your parcel RK486217895CN the departure point was not Beijing but Suzhou. So possibly the parcel did a few hops before arriving in Canada. Now possibly the parcel is in a bin ready to be inspected by Canada Customs Officer. But we don't know were the parcel landed in Canada.
Hope the above will help you understand the system.
