I have a package RI290868044CN that was shipped to the wrong country.

The seller in Aliexpress claims that I put in that country, but I have ordered from Aliexpress before and have been fine. I disputed and aliexpress ruled in the sellers favor. :-(

The package is being sent to the other country but I am in the United States and the zip code and address are also US based so I am also confused why they messed up.

My question is, once it arrives in the wrong country will it be returned to the sender? What is the process. Also is there a way to contact china post and have it redirected to the correct country?

china post can not redirect the parcel. it is very strange that aliexpress did not refund you money.

Will Chinapost hold it for us to pay the difference and ship or return to sender? What are my options?

The parcel now is in warehouse of South Africa Post. China Post now no longer control this parcel and can do nothing for you even you want to pay extra money. I don't think South Africa Post will return the goods to China. Normally they will destroy or sell the goods.

It seems that you are in South Carolina, but seller printed SC as country name. Normally aliexpress should refund you money for seller's mistake. I don't know why you failed the dispute case.
