can you tell me if this item even left china yet? and is it travelling by sea or plane?

RL160642971CN is airmail parcel. However, http://track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php shows it stuck in 福州 and never left china. It should have some problem in customs(might be lost).

I suggest you track again next week, if its location still stuck in 福州, you should open dispute to ebay/aliexpress for lost parcel.
