I live in middletown, ny but i called usps and spoke to a live agent and she told me that the destination is cleveland, mississippi

So far, the tracking on the USPS site doesn't give any reason to believe that that is the case. Personally, I would keep a very close eye on the tracking info and give it another few days. If it shows "Arrived at destination facility", then that is the local post office from which your item is going to be delivered...so that will tell you whether or not the item went to the right place. If it's nearby in NY, you're golden. If it's in MS, well...then it'd be time to give USPS a call and see if they can correct it.
