As far as I know it was supposed to ship by sea. is there a way to know whether it is already on the target ship or still at the port? its been ~45 days since shipment.

We only know the parcel left Hong Kong on May 6. After that, none will scan the parcel for China Post. You can not know exact location at this moment. Normally shipping through sea (surface parcel) might transit through many ports and ships and take up to half year to arrive.
