Post Import Duty Payment

Hi,

My package has reached Shanghai with China Post: CC179468784SE. It was told to receiver that they have to pay the import duty for the same. My question is how the receiver can make the payment and till when China post will hold the package before sending it back.

http://track-chinapost.com/startairmail.php shows the parcel has cleared import customs. The parcel should have some delivery problem. You can ask receiver go to China Post shanghai head office and pickup the parcel.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The receiver has contacted China post & they are saying she needs to pay import duty for the package. Is it posdible for customs clearance China post has paid on behalf of receiver and claiming now before delivery. If yes, how much it would be?

Maybe China Post has paid the duty to customs on behalf of the receiver and receiver needs pay money to China Post to get the parcel. Not sure how much the duty is, you need ask receiver go to China Post and do whatever required to collect the parcel.
