Post average time in customs?

I have shipped a package (return new but defective item to supplier for repair/replace - consumer goods) from the United States to Tianjin, China. It arrived at customs (in Tianjin) on December 5th and tracking still shows it there. How long do items usually sit in customs prior to being released and shipped to destination? Thank you.

Usually if the package arrived China for a week and still under customs processing, you need contact receiver to call China Post hot line 11185 immediately to pay duty.
