My tracking has been stuck on received by carrier for over 10 days now, what is the reason for this and how long can I expect to wait?

"Received by the carrier" is meaning the package has handed over to airlines, it is waiting for the flight to UK. Now is Xmas rush reason, it should be take a long time for getting the flights space.
