My parcel has been in rout since early May and finally cleared customs but has been listed as “in transit” since June 22, 2020. My most recent update says “Los Angeles, CA.”
That was on July 12, 2020.
Is it stuck in a pile of mail or what?

The parcel should be handled by USPS after it arrive in USA, but unfortunately tracking number start with "A" can not be tracked through USPS website.
http://track-chinapost.com/result_china.php?order_no=AS402895594CN shows the package has been in transit in the US since Jul.12 and no update since then, the package should already been lost. I'd suggest you contact with the seller or the website which you bought the item to open dispute for refund.
