Most likely, though, you're going to need someone who speaks Mandarin to call the Customs hotline at 12360 and sort things out. Can the recipient give you a hand?

FWIW, if this involves a dispute with a seller and is something you're returning for a refund, usually you have to make a good faith attempt to return the item, but the seller also has to make a good faith attempt to receive it. If they won't pick up the item or help you clear it from Customs, that could cause you to win the dispute, even if the item never makes it back to them.
