Hi.

I ordered something from ebay on the 13th of January.
Apparently posted on the 14th of Jan.
Estimated delivery was listed as between 8th Feb - 28th Feb.
Currently 8th March.
Tracking tells me the package; Guangzhou Transit Station export security scan

Tracking is # 89068288758

How much longer will I have to wait for this item to arrive in Melbourne, Australia?
The seller has been useless to deal with.

89068288758 is china post ordinary parcel which has low priority to catch airline space especially in busy season. you might need wait another 2 to 3 weeks to get it. If you buyer protection is expiring, you might need ask seller extend the protection. if seller take no action, open dispute to ebay.

So, 3 months postage for a $15 battery I could've bought locally?
Wow.
Looks like I'll be buying from local suppliers only in the future...

I did not notice you purchased a battery. You seller should NOT use airmail to ship Battery which is forbidden by airline. If airline detected battery in parcel, it will throw it into trash without notice. You should open dispute to seller for refund.

The seller keeps telling me ;

"hi,dear your goods have been shipped, track number added to the ebay, please check it, thank you"

Also, if the item has been thrown out, will anybody be notified?

battery item will be thrown out without notify anybody. your seller should not use airmail to ship battery. open dispute to ebay before it is too late.
