No. Canada Post will not scan and update parcel status, no notification either.

I just got a notification from August 6 that it left Shanghai so it is on its way to Canada?

Hi there
My parcel (RU758073195CN) has said "Guangzhou Terminal, leave the
2017-08-18 10:27", since the 18th of August already. Is there anyway I can track the plane it's on or receive more information? I desperately need this package! Don't understand how it could be flying for almost a month already.

your parcel left china on Aug 18. From China to South Africa might take 30 to 90 days, you can not see new status when parcel is outside china. please be patient and wait.

http://track-chinapost.com/track_global.php shows the parcel left Beijing for Nigeria on Aug 22. Normally from Beijing to Nigeira travel time should be 2 to 4 weeks. You can wait one more week and see what happens.
