Hi!
So I sent a parcel EMS from China to Japan on Tuesday - paying a lot of money for them get it there quickly. Was told 2-3 days. Well they've passed and its not been delivered I don't think.
Online it varies from saying posting to in Fukuoka where it needs to be. I went back to the post office today and they said it was in Japan but my Chinese friend has just called China Post on my behalf and they've said its in China.
The tracking is EA101261570CN.
Can anyone please advise?

Also - my friend is Japan has no phone. He's a student who has just moved there so this is a suprise gift and I can't tell him. But they can't get in touch directly with him. Though he lives in student dorms...
Inside the parcel is chocolate (amongst other small bits) will he have to pay tax on his side in Japan?

Please help me!!!
Thanks.

1. This is the last tracking from Japan Post site:
09/30/2016 19:00 Held by import Customs SHINFUKUOKA FUKUOKA
811-8799

2. Maybe your friend will have to call that number or go to the Customs office.

Hope this help.

Great! Some new information!
Thanks!
But what does held by customs actually mean? Does it mean they are holding it for a reason? Or that it will release itself? I'm really confused.
I wanted to avoid at all costs telling him about it. It's meant to be a suprise!

** Can I ask: did I need to add on any customs declaration form to things? I just went to the post office and they guided me. I've been reading online and it sounds like they won't release the parcel without something happening...

1. A little bit of reading for you:
http://www.customs.go.jp/english/c-answer_e/kokusaiyubin/6101_e.htm

2. You might have to wait to see another tracking for the parcel to find out if they will release the parcel.

Hope this help.

1. Any parcel going out of any country in the world need to have a declaration form on the parcel. I wonder how come when you mail the parcel China Post did not tell you that.

2. This customs form is an International understanding of the Universal Postal Union of the World.

3. Now maybe you will have to call yourself at the Japan Customs office to clear thing up.

Hope this help.

1. Time in Japan right now is:

7:51 PM
Friday, September 30, 2016 (GMT+9)
Time in Tokyo, Japan

2. So basically the parcel just arrive at the Customs Office.

Hope this help.
