Post Package starting with a CX tracking number?

Hello. So my package tracking number from China is CX005056236CN. I have seen a lot of post about packages that are LT or EE, but never CX. Does anyone know what that CX stands for and where my package probably is and how long it will take to get from China to the US?

Thanks

1. I think this is the second time that I see one of those number with a prefix of CX. This is the tracking I found for you:
Number: CX005056236CN
Package Status: In Transit
Destination Country: United States
2016-10-14 15:43 Origin Post is Preparing Shipment, We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.
2016-10-14 15:43 CHINA, Acceptance

Origin Country: China
2016-10-15 03:12 In Shanghai, left Shanghai Pudong airport
2016-10-15 03:12 In Shanghai, from Shanghai to New York JFK airport
2016-10-14 15:43 Shanghai PuTuo (the Department) has been received (the embrace cast member name: Xia Yong, Tel:)

2. So according to the above tracking your parcel is On Route to JFK. Normally it should take about 9 days and over to see any movement on the USPS site from the date the parcel departed China. In your case it would be after the 24 Oct.

3. But because lately parcel have been delay in JFK you might want to add maybe another week to that. You still can follow your parcel on the USPS site to see if any movement are done to your parcel.

Hope this help.

int077, thanks for that quick reply. I know that you can't predict accurately anything but do you think it will arrive before Halloween? That is my main concern. Also, I know about the forbidden list policy that China has. My package has LED lights in it. But does this mean that it has already bypassed that because it is on it's way to JFK?

Thanks

1. I can not predict you will receive it before Halloween because of the problem in JFK. Yes your parcel pass Security and Customs because your parcel:
2016-10-15 03:12 In Shanghai, left Shanghai Pudong airport

2. Sorry I could not give you good news, just hope that today or tomorrow the parcel is pick up in JFK.

Hope this help.

Hi @int077,

Do you have any official statements about this delay at JFK?
My company has a lot of parcels going to that hub, that left China up to 13 days ago going for that hub without any updates to it yet and our customers are going balistic sending mail to us now as they are products for Halloween. We thought shipping with EMS would be quicker but so far it hasn't been.

It would be nice, if there was some page, where this information on the delays at JFK could be sent to our customers.

Thank you.

1. Only personal observation. The main problem is the backlog of mail that was created in China Post during the National holiday in China from 01 - 08 Oct.

2. Some parcel (very few) got through during the holiday, the ones that were in the mail bag already tag and at the Airport from China to USA.

3. Now what is happening on the 9 Oct is the machine is starting to work again and there is no extra Aircraft for the thousand of parcels that were left there before the holiday. So now the well has to start all over again.

4. On the side of JFK, maybe there is to much mail coming in not only from China but from elsewhere also for that period of time. There is people here with parcel China Post Express Post Service(EMS) that have not receive their parcel yet going to JFK.

5. Sorry if I can not give you more info but that is my personal observation so far. Normally what I have seen in 9 days from departure date in China to USPS movement in USA. This is not happening right now to JFK.

6. The other thing to take into consideration is the USA Customs, you, I or the recipient have no control of that. Normally E Packet should be deliver from 6 to 12 working days excluding the time spent at the Customs of both country.

Hope this help.

@int077. I contacted my seller about the item and he said he called China Post and they said the flight with my package arrived at JFK on October 16th on Flight MU297. So from what he said, do you think that the package is in that whatever delay that has occurred at JFK or could it possibly have been lost? How long do you think I should wait? He suggested I call them but everyone knows it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to reach an actual human through USPS phone.

Thanks

1. If it arrive on the 16 Oct to JFK, then there is nothing to do because it's in the Inbound Mail Warehouse were Customs has to go through parcels.

2. You just need to wait like others people in USA that have the same problem as you with JFK. Sorry you and I can not push Customs to go faster, they have a job to do to protect USA Citizens.

Hope this help.

@int077.

Yup! I wasn't trying to make things go faster. I was just curious and wanted to make sure that it will eventually get processed and not just forgotten forever
